BEFORE THE SERIVCE

ARRIVE: Be ready at the rear of the Sanctuary by 10:00

CANDLES: If there is no acolyte (check with Pastor), light both altar candles when the service music starts.

WORSHIPPERS: Greet them with a smile and by name, if you can, and hand them a service bulletin.  Watch for late arrivals after the service starts.

DURING THE SERIVCE

SANTUARY DOORS: Close rear and side doors when service prelude music starts.

SANCTUARY LIGHTS: (Press remote buttons for no more than ONE second at a time) If Pastor uses projector, dim lights with remote control (Press ‘PROJ’ button)

COMMUNION: (By Table): Choir will commune first. Tables should be 6 persons maximum per each side. Fewer is OK. Try not to split families. – Do not wait - Start persons for the next tables forward as soon as Pastor serves the last person on left side table. If one side of pews finishes first, invite remaining persons to commune at other side’s table. Ushers commune with last tables.

OFFERING: As Offering hymn starts, come forward to receive plates from acolyte or Pastor.  Gather offerings and wait until the offering hymn ends and then bring plates forward in center aisle as the Offertory music starts.  Return by side aisles.

FELLOWSHIP FOLDERS: Be ready and, as soon as Pastor begins the Sermon, pass them out, from the side aisles, front to back

WORSHIP ATTENDANCE COUNT: Count every breathing soul present–including pastors, choir, musicians, babies, all persons in nursery. Enter the count in red book kept in the usher’s closet.

REAR and SIDE SANCTUARY DOORS: At the end of the service, latch them open as last hymn is sung and the pastor comes to the rear of the sanctuary.

AFTER THE SERVICE – Before leaving

PEWS AND HYMNAL RACKS: Check and straighten hymnal racks, remove trash from pews and floor. Remove the Fellowship folders and place them in the usher’s closet.

OFFERING SECURITY: Place offerings into the marked bag in the Sacristy and place it in the lock box in the Sacristy.  Return offering plates to the shelves behind the altar.

CANDLES: Extinguish all candles after the service.

COFFEE: Turn off the hot plates and empty and rinse pots into the sink in the Upper Room. Return them to the hotplates in the Narthex.

DOORS: Close all upstairs doors.  Set latches to lock outside doors.  Check to see that all downstairs doors are latched.

LIGHTS:  Turn all lights OFF including those downstairs and in stairwell.  If altar team has not yet finished, Press ‘ALTAR’ button on Sanctuary dimmer remote control so that the altar lights will remain ON.  They will turn them off later.
