What's Happening at Zion

Today is Girl Scout Sunday.  Scouts in our congregation include Natalie Andrews.

Confirmation Chi-Rho class resumes TODAY at 4:00 p.m.  Please note the dates for the remainder of the season:  March  21; April 18 and 25; May 2.

Lenten Craft Kits:  The children have been receiving craft kits on Sunday mornings.  they are asked to make the 2 crafts and are encouraged to keep one for themselves, and to bring one back to the Wednesday evening service, or on the next Sunday.

The March newsletters are on the desk in the narthex.

Easter flower order forms are available on the bulletin board in the narthex.

The Easter egg hunt is returning to Zion on Sunday, March 28.  This event was sooo successful last year that   Sunday School and the Youth Group are planning it for this   year. On Sunday, March 28,  the Youth Group will hide the eggs while the Sunday School children hear the story of Easter and make their own Easter baskets. After the 9:30 worship service everyone is invited to go to the Christian Center where a continental breakfast will be served and the children will hunt for their Easter eggs. Please feel free to invite friends and neighbors to join us for worship on this special Sunday.

Zion Youth Sixth grade thru High School, March 27 & 28 are spe- cial dates.  We are hosting the Easter Egg Hunt. This year the Youth Group will be meeting on Saturday, March 27th at 6:00 p.m. at the  Christian Center to enjoy pizza and fill the dozens and dozens of eggs.  On Sunday, March 28, during the 9:30 service, the Youth Group will hide the eggs while the Sunday School children hear the story of Easter and make their own Easter baskets. After the 9:30 worship service everyone is invited to go to the Christian Center for egg hunting and treats.

The Baby Collection was a great success. Thank you to all of you who made donations. There were many sweaters and jackets, one-piece outfits, pants, shirts and even shoes. The donations were evenly divided between Heatbeat in Sandusky
and Abigail Ministries of Norwalk. The monthly Sunday School offering will also be divided between the two ministries.

A New Member Sunday is scheduled for April 25th.  Anyone interested in membership in Zion may see Pastor Vance, Leslie Foxworth, or call the church office.

Sunday School teachers:  The spring lesson packets are available from the file in the narthex.  Please check the master schedule and fill in open dates.

Worship helpers are needed for our mid-week Lenten services.  Please find the pink sign-up sheet on the bulletin board.

Chi Rho students - you are needed!  Each Sunday a robed acolyte is needed to do the prayer and acolyting duties.  Please check your calendar and take a turn by signing up on the master schedule.  Acolytes are also needed for mid-week Lenten services.

Please sign the Master Schedule!  Needed: ushers/communion assistants.

Nursery attendants are needed each Sunday morning. See master schedule.

St. John Lutheran in Bellevue is sponsoring the silent film “King of Kings” on Palm Sunday, March 28th, at 7:00 p.m.  Renowned organist Clark Wilson will be playing the pipe organ.  More info on the narthex bulletin board.

The organ arrangement is given to the Glory of God by Judy Burrows in honor of Julie Necina’s birthday tomorrow.
