This & That
"A PRAYERFUL RESPONSE TO THE STATE OF OUR NATION”
from the Pastors of Huron. Join us for a time of scripture and prayer for our nation on Wed, July 8th at 7:00 pm on Zion’s Facebook Page https://www.facebook.com/zionlutheranchurchhuronohio/
Zion has received a micro-grant through the North West Ohio Synod. Our grant is called the “Sonshine Grant”. Zion received $1,500.00 to build relationships in the Rye Beach Community and to help feed them spiritually, socially, and physically. The $1,500.00 will primarily be used to purchase restaurant gift cards from locally-owned restaurants. This not only helps feed the Rye Beach community but will also aid local restaurants who are currently struggling due to the effects of the COVID19 pandemic. It is our intention to build dialogue and relationships between the Rye Beach community and Zion. We hope to offer a Bible Study during the summer and to build support between the Rye Beach community and available community services.
Our Immediate Needs Include:
There is a box located in the portico for the following donations. Contributions will be picked up every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday mornings.
1. boxes of crackers
2. boxes of microwave popcorn
2. Drivers to deliver items to the Rye Beach area.
3. We are seeking additional monetary donations to help supplement this project. It is the intent of the micro- grant that these programs continue to develop over time and not simply be a one-time success. All monetary contributions can be sent to Zion, 930 Main Street, Huron, OH 44839 with a note or memo designating the “Sonshine Project”.
With Covid19 we are aware that many are in need. As hearts are moved to come to the aide of those who have a need, we thank you and know our Lord will be blessed. For questions or to get involved, please contact Shelia Preston at 419-433-8504.
