What Do You See?
“For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.”
(I Corinthians 13:12)
How many times a day do you look in a mirror? I would bet it is more time than you think. What do you see? Whom do you see? Our reflection, what others see in us, should be the face of Jesus. It is true we do not completely understand God or what God desires for us. Admit it, scripture can be complicated. But, God has given us the tools to be the face of Jesus in this world, but that takes time. Do you know the old fashioned mirrors? The ones that are a bit cloudy and dark? That’s what I envision here. We see a bit unclearly what God means, what God desires. But when the time is right and we are interconnected with our Living God, then we can see clearly, as in face to face with God.
Keep working at it. Keep studying God’s Holy Word. It may seem like an old fashioned mirror to you today…but in time, you will see (understand God) as well as God understands and knows you!
